Lastly, another rare husky, the Azurian husky, is also misunderstood as closely related to the pure white husky.

But there’s not much to say about these dogs except that they are found in Alaska or Russia and have mesmerizing blue-grey pigmented fur.

Honestly, nobody even knows if Azurian husky is real or not!

People have mixed opinions about their existence, but we believe these rarest white Azurian huskies are yet to be discovered.

So, they all do belong to the husky breed but with slight variations.

Not only the beautiful white husky is a stunning breed but so are his combinations.

These white husky mix dogs may have a different appearance, but every hybrid offers a unique personality with similar husky traits.

Siberian husky dogs look so graceful that you may think these are not powerful.

However, a beautiful proportionate body, great strength, and high stamina are their popular qualities.

Eye Color

Almost all Siberian huskies are born with blue eye color which may change after 5-8 weeks of their birth.

Isabella white husky can have blue eyes or brown eyes and overall white huskies can have amber, bi-color eyes (1 blue eye and 1 brown eye), or parti-eyes (part of the eye has a spec brown or blue).

Lastly, the Azurian huskies are husky-type dogs with captivating blue eyes, brown eyes, split-eyes, or bi-color eyes. You never know!

Because discovered or not, they still are part of the husky breed.

A rare gene controls the eye color of these white Siberian dogs.

Interesting fact of Siberian Husky

Almost 40% of the pure white huskies have blue eyes, 15% display bi-color eyes, and 5% show split-eyes or parti-colored eyes.

Height

Average height of white husky ranges from 20 – 24 inches (51cm-61cm).

Whereas, the charming Isabella husky dogs are 21 – 23.5 inches (54cm-60cm) tall for male dogs and 20 – 22 inches (51cm-56cm) tall for female huskies.

There might be a chance you have a husky type dog that look as tall as a pure white husky or Isabella husky and you thought it to be a white Siberian dog but with a slight blue-grey coat.

Or there are chances, it’s an Azurian husky!

Size and Weight

husky breed weight

A pure, all white husky dog has standard and miniature size. The former being a medium-size husky weighing between 35 to 60 pounds, and the latter weighs about 18 to 25 pounds.

For a white male husky, the weight is approximately 45 to 60 pounds. However, a white female husky is usually ten pounds underweight and lies within a range of 35 to 50 pounds.

The size and weight for the Isabella and Azurian huskies are comparable to white huskies as they are similar dogs with slight variations in the coat color.

Husky Coat Types and Color Combinations

The plush coat is the standard for these white Siberian and Isabella canines (sometimes Azurian husky) but they can also have poor-quality wooly or short fur.

The wooly type coat has long hair and gives a thick undercoat to the dogs hiding their beautiful appearance.

Pure white is the rarest color of the husky breeds, but they can also have some other coat colors like:

  • Black & White
  • Red & White (Chocolate Copper, Red Copper, Orange Copper)
  • Sable (Black-nosed Reds)
  • Fawn, Yellow or Beige & White (Isabella Husky)
  • Grey & White
  • Blue & Grey (Azurian Husky)
  • Agouti & White coats Agouti Siberians

The white coat is due to a recessive gene.

These unique attributes make a white Siberian or Azurian husky even more loveable:

Excellent Runners:

The husky dogs have a story to prove that they are amazing runners. Yes, we are talking about the famous history of Togo and Balto.

They can run for a long time without getting any water or food, which means they don’t get tired quickly.

Social:

Huskies are loving dogs that used to live in packs, so they try to interact with more people.

They don’t make good Guard-dogs, and there’s a high chance your affectionate dog might befriend the stranger.

Energetic:

Pure white Siberian husky is full of endless energy. This zestful breed is included in the top active dog breeds of the world.

Great Watchdogs:

Howling is the way of communication for these dogs, and a young pup starts whining or making sounds after 2-3 weeks (it is uncommon for them to bark).

Their alert nature and huge howls can hint at an intruder’s presence, adding them to the list of good watchdogs.

Tough:

These dogs were originated in Siberia, Northern Asia, and classify as cold-climate dogs.

However, they can withstand both cold and hot temperatures (below 24°C or 75°F) as they are pretty adaptive to any climate.

Calm:

They have a calm temperament and are not dangerous by any means.

White husky can sometimes become aggressive if left alone for a longer time or not provided an active lifestyle that matches their high energy.

Don’t Get Intimidated

These wolf-like dogs might look ferocious but trust us when we say they are not! They are sweet, friendly, and full of love.

4. Is Pure White Husky the Rarest Color of Siberian Husky?

all white husky

Yes!

Just like a black German shepherd is the rarest color in shepherd similarly, pure white is one of the rare colors in Siberian dogs to exist.

The main reason for the Siberian husky’s white color coat is the pigment restriction due to the recessive gene, which then caused the white hue to appear over the dog’s whole body.

Otherwise,

Isabella husky with a hint of yellow-beige, Azurian husky with blue-grey fur, black and white husky, and agouti husky are also other Siberian dogs.

5. Adorably Cute White Husky Puppy

Now, you must be thinking, if white is not the original color of these husky dogs,

What would be the coat color of the pups they form?

Or,

Whether or not all husky puppies are born white?

When two purebred white huskies with a recessive gene bred together, they are most likely to produce pure white husky puppies.

However, it’s not always the case.

Some may create a puppy with grey or cream patches, which hints at their growth as Isabella husky or Cream white husky.

To summarize, these cute puppies are fluffy, loving, and ADORABLE!

You may think these cute puppies to be a high maintenance breed as they are strong wolf-like giants like blue bay shepherd dogs, but they also have an instinct to explore everything around them.

Not to mention their coat shedding.

But they really are easy keepers. Here’s why:

Grooming

The fur of these huskies is thick and double-coated: topcoat (water-repellent) and undercoat (warm).

And yes, they shed a lot.

But brushing once a week is enough to maintain the beauty of your stunning dog. It helps in removing the shed hairs from the undercoat.

Remember to brush daily during shedding season and never try to shave or trim their fur.

Pro-tip: Get an effective pet hair cleaner or hair remover roller to avoid seeing dog hair everywhere in the house during shedding season.

Blowing Coat: The Shedding Seasons

They shed twice a year: spring and fall. It may look like all of their undercoat is falling off, but it is to make way for the topcoat, the new growth.

Bathing

Besides, the thick white hair coat your white husky doesn’t require regular bathing (to conserve their natural hair oils).

But if you observe a stain in their beautiful fur, deep clean them using a pet scrubber and a mild dog shampoo.

Pro-tip: Don’t forget the ears! Clean once a week to avoid any infections or diseases.

Dental Care

These Siberian dogs are blessed with great white teeth, but you must brush them twice a week to maintain their shine and dental health.

Sometimes, it can be a challenging task to sustain the hygiene of their teeth as they are always active and energetic so, get this toothbrush toy to help them play and get cleaned at the same time.

Now that it is all groomed and cleaned, let’s get to know the best food tips for your perfect dog’s perfect health.

Feeding

These giant dogs may seem to demand a high quantity nutritional diet, but it’s not the case. Two to three cups of dry dog food are the ideal food habit for these huskies.

You can also give them kibble, meat, broccoli, fish, carrots, eggs, bones, blueberries, or raw food.

Whatever meal you choose, do not overfeed your dog.

More is not always better!

These huskies tend to become obese if their diet includes extra carbs or a high quantity of food. It is advised not to give them one large meal but divide the food into two small portions.

Pro-tip: Never feed them right before training. Give a two-hour gap between the meal and exercise.

8. Training of White Husky Dogs

Train secrets of white husky

As we mentioned earlier, the pure white husky is an easy-keeper; they are not difficult to train. But there are some essential tips you must follow.

Or, you may end up with a stubborn, headstrong, and difficult to handle husky.

Be Consistent

Siberians are intelligent and have their independent way of thinking.

Not to mention, they are not used to traditional obedience training or basic dog commands like ‘stay,’ ‘down,’ ‘sit,’ ‘come,’ ‘no,’ or ‘heel.’

They can sometimes really test their owner’s patience while training, but the key is to stay consistent.

Don’t Shout

It can become quite challenging to control them if they are off-leash as they tend to wander around.

If you shout as a way to handle the huskies, it will only make your dog stop trusting you entirely. Of course, you don’t want that.

The ideal method is to be patient and ignore their bad behavior. React only when they stop.

Instead, shower them with all your love and encourage their right actions!

Daily Exercise

They are used to run for a long-distance as they were bred as sledding dogs. You can say running is their all-time favorite thing to do, which explains their love for exercise.

Check these cute Siberian husky face masks and go for a walk with your favorite pet in style!

Pro-Tip: Don’t sacrifice their cleanliness for their love of running, and use a pet paw cleaner to get rid of all the dirt and trash stuck on their feet from all the exercise.

Keep the Sessions Short

Yes, they are energetic and love playing, but long sessions will only make them lose interest.

Engage them throughout the training to see their best behavior. The ideal period is 90 minutes for daily exercise.

You can divide the sessions into two, depending on your schedule.

Pro-tip: If you don’t want to lose your white husky, never leave them alone outside. Also, make sure to install a high fence in your garden or lawn to prevent them from jumping out.

9. Common Health Issues

White husky ranges from $500 to $1000 and can live up to 12 to 15 years.

They are considered a healthy dog, but few diseases or conditions are most likely to affect them.

Epilepsy, Hip Dysplasia or hip dislocation (only 5% have this gene), Deafness, Eye problems like corneal dystrophy, juvenile cataracts, progressive retinal atrophy,

And

Skin infections like Pemphigus foliaceus are common issues in Siberian huskies.

Pro-tip: It is advised to precheck the husky before buying to detect any infection or disease.

Bottom Line

White husky, Isabella husky, or an Azurian husky are Siberian dogs that can leave you speechless with their endless stunning beauty.

They are intelligent, loyal, playful, loving, and ADORABLE!

  1. EVERYTHING. I’m an owner of the beautiful Siberian Husky, the world’s most beautiful, most perfect dog, from WAY BACK. My last was actually not a Siberian Husky but a hybrid bred in Siberia.. Mom was a Siberian Gray Wolf and dad was a registered purebred Siberian Husky who had run in the Iditarod. My Nikita Pakanatovich, “Niki”, was my “best mate”, my buddy, my pal, my constant companion. Loved by everyone, everywhere we went. You could not find one more balanced, assured & loving. When I lost him at 17, a huge chunk of my heart went with him. I have not been in the financial position to purchase another since that time, not even a rescue.
